John Tippets is a Strategic Management student in the Marriott School of Business at Brigham Young University, Provo.
John was born November 27, 1996 in American Fork, UT. His parents met at BYU. After they graduated, his father switched jobs a few times, leading to his family moving to Sioux City, South Dakota when he was a toddler, followed by Kirkland, suburb of Seattle in Washington State until he was 13, then to Grapevine, Dallas-Forthworth Metroplex, Texas until he was 17. At age 17, difficult family circumstances forced him and his mother to stay with his uncle in Rancho Cordova, Sacramento California until John graduated high school.
After graduation, John, his mother, and his younger brother went to stay with their grandparents on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada while his mother received her post-graduate degree from the University of British Columbia. John, his mother and his brother are dual-citizens of the United States and Canada. John's mother is an immigrant to the United States. John then attended BYU for one semester in Provo, Utah before leaving for his two-year church mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in São Paulo, Brazil from January 2016 until December 2017. Upon returning from Brazil, John's mother remarried and now resides in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, where he currently calls home. Additionally, he has worked full time over summer breaks and resided in Washington D.C. and Orange County, California.
